"Japs" sometimes gets censored on here. Weird, I know.
It's because it's demeaning. I always wanted to say something to the people who use it here on the forums but figured that it wasn't that big of a deal since everyone just used it to shorten the full word. But since some of you don't know, I'll just go ahead and inform:
It is a racial insult to Japanese. I know some of you may go "what? why?" but it is in fact meant to demean them. We all should know the conflict between the U.S. and Japan during WWll. Well Americans used the word to put down Japanese, kind of like saying they don't deserve the full name and that they are lower than dirt.
When my friends use the term, I always correct them. And a lot of you probably didn't know why it gets censored, which is understandable but remember that it is used to belittle their race.
Wow it's demeaning? I don't really use the word much, but still. I don't like all these words being demeaning. Same with the N-word (sorry if even this is too inappropriate), I don't see something demeaning about the word, since it'd be ilogical to call someone who is European an Afro-American or African. It's just for designating someone like you would designate any other thing/person objectively e.g. that's a picture.
Guess it's a small difference in culture. You could still call japanese people Nips or something because Japan is called Nipon in Japanese.
Anyway on topic: I actually never saw anyone use plasma cannon or plasma cannon sp. So weird.
Actually, 'Nips' is derogatory as well.

i havent even seen one japanesse persson use a plasma cannon. i always see americans using it

Well, they clearly use it for the effectiveness, maybe consider it a balancing issue, but if it can be dodged by skill alone, then I have nothing to complain about. (Does it make lethal damage in any part of the body? i dunno).

I personally hate players with VS Master and use nothing but vital suits, but thats how their going to play. All I can do learn a counter to that and go on with having fun.
For awhile, Melee I + Sprinter or just plain Melee II with Gun Sword I or SP was getting as popular as MW2's Tactical Knife and Commando Pro + Lightweight.
Just roll with it, both figuratively and literally.
I actually get annoyed at those hosts who are VS whores. They do stuff like set the map to neos, or thunderpeal, then set default weapons at handguns and make it so you spawn with no grenades. Should you find plasma grenades, the first time you stun them, they dashboard.

Yes it's lethal damage on any part of the body, and also it shoots not 1 ball of plasma energy, but 3, 3 in a spread shot that eventually curve back to the original area where it was aimed at.
This is Plasma Cannon SP the original Plasma Cannon is nearly impossible to get kills with.

It is not just the japanese players, it is all players in general. I have the plasma cannon Sp preset for me, So do a bunch of other players as well. When youre on a battlefield, you will want to arm yourself with the strongest weapon possible. Any weapon of tactical advantage will be used against you.Do not just blame the japanese because youre playing in their timezone. It is best to learn how to counter, instead of raging and complaining. Should the japanese pass up the "rocket" related weapons so you can pick it up and use it against them? I highly dount anyone will want to do that.

alot of people will search a game for the most over powered weapon combination then use nothing but that, ive seen groups of people using VdeviceSP with incidiary nades (since you can be both invisible and toss nades) and people using GunSword with Melee2 (fast 1hit kill), or hosts setting large maps to short range weapons and having VSMaster2 (like the above poster stated). every gun has its characteristics, ive beaten people using all of the examples ive stated above. its just another way to play the game. stop complaining when the PlasmaCannon can be rolled.

i bet lost planet 2 sells really well over in japan. every campaign and online matches are filled with the white flag with red dot in the center. wont the shield block those plasma cannon ?
