I know that some of you have caught on, but I didn't see a post like this, so I apologize if this is old hat: Load up 5-3 on easy. There are achievements/trophies for playing x amount of times on easy. Get a team of four. One man takes the cannon, and focuses on enemy cannon (when it opens) and then turrets/vs osprey. 1-2 other teammates shoot t-energy at the cannon periodically. Two men man cannons and switch their assault side based on the enemy flotilla. The cannon is finished in no time. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DESTROY THE EVENTUAL NEAR-SIDE LOWER CANNONS. They will later rock you if you do not. An assault team of three sieges enemy flotilla. One competent player stays behind and defends ONLY UNTIL THEIR TEAMMATES START THE ENEMY CORE. At this point the lone defender grapples up to first platform and then second. Jump down and cross ships to join your teammates that are clearing/protecting enemy core. At this point try to have enough battle gauge so that all team members can die and you'll be okay. Stay, defending from meager enemy. around the taken core. After the 1 minute mark, boxes will fall, until the end of the countdown. Boxes even fall after the countdown, but there's no way to get them. Stay alive for 11 seconds at a new spawnpoint, and reap the 100 boxes that you earn every 9 muntes. We hit the 8 minute mark today, with a well-oiled team. Hope this helps.

You can add to this strat Head Start (Plasma) and Warp Grenades... at the 7 second mark another volley of boxes will fall and a strategically placed warp will get you 1/3 of the boxes and possibly 1 death depending on your reflexes. Preferably have your ship defender holding them so the 3 stormers are at 100% firepower. If you add a person with a plasma cannon (SP works too) and let him activate 2 dataposts or stick to the t-eng generator you can have a really nice cleaner once inside the enemy ship.

Or you can use Superstar, Points II, or Self Inflicted Injury, and farm here for both boxes and faction points... just a thought, lol. Like the OP said... use the onboard turrets to take out those turrets on the lowest level on the opposing battleship where you make the crossing between battleships. You'll be glad you did.

I use superstar, too, during this, so it's a great idea. Also, I don't have warp grenades, but your idea about using them sounds great.

Great Info, but the guy on the cannon gets alot more points then everyone else.

here at the office we used that strategy to get all stuff before the game hit the stores so we could write about it. but yeah that helps. PS did you know if you are the gunner in the big canon in episode 5.2 you will get 2000 career points. so there is a nice combo.

Great Info, but the guy on the cannon gets alot more points then everyone else.
only if he takes out all the VS and the cannon, you can also get the most of it using the first gun battery that has dual cannons.

I'm actually weirdly fond of all my farming posses so far, since I've met a bunch of people and uh....'emoted' with them, which was cool. That being said, I'm ALWAYS (by decision) the 'make sure the home post is secure' guy. On the other hand, I'm not always the lowest score so it ain't all bad. Is that 20K on 5-2 thing true? Because I'm more interested in character unlocks for the femmes than I am in weapons etc.

We would leave one guy to defend the home post only until the assault team activated the enemy's post. There were a couple of times that, despite being super fast, the enemy started our post first when all four of us assaulted. Once the enemy post begins countdown, the defender heads over, and makes it there in plenty of time for the first box drop. In regards to the career points, yes the cannon player has the chance to earn a lot more points. I'm ace on that thing now, and could perform Lasik surgery on a cat-g from a mile away. A couple of games I earned 32000 points, but most of them, and I did the same thing, generally, I had jsut a few more than my teammates. I emptied my lottery today, using this method, and have no more random unlocks. From here on, it's career points.
