Me and some friends were just playing PLAYER matches to find some things and once we did we would quit the match. Well, this goes towards your DNF % and once it gets to a certain level you have to complete 7+ matches before you can earn points again. So the problem is, I quit a player match and now I can't earn anything when I play ranked.

So don't quit ever not even in a custom, private player match.

Yeah thats not a flawed system. It's set up for people just like you. Everyone hates when people on their team just leaves them high and dry in match. Stop the cryin.

I agree with General Shrooms actually, I don't think you should be punished for quitting private matches.  I'm all for it in Ranked however.

The issue with it tracking private matches is because those can have any rules so sometimes people will want to play those matches for a challenge.  If someone leaves early it affects the challenge between the sides, so it does still make a difference.

As for leaving your experimental match, I guess that is kind of a pain, but I would have to say, how did it affect you as much as you say it did.

If it was your first match, then yeah, you would hit a 100% dnf for leaving it.  But to get your dnf low enough again, you would only need to play and complete one match.  I believe 50% is low enough.

*edit: I found info that says it actually requires your dnf to be below 30% to earn points.  So you will have to play more then 2 extra matches if your first match was your only leave.  Or roughly enough matches to have a total more then 3 times your matches that you left.  (Early on more then 3 times works.  After a lot of matches it will have to be more accurate.)

If you set up more then 1 match for nearly unending duration, then well, you are out of luck.  Everyone else was lucky enough to brave ranked or faction matches to test out features.  You and your friends really wanted to go in depth with everything you could which couldn't be much yet, and so it ended up causing you problems.

I think the only thing necessary would be for the dnf to be truly explained.  As it is, most people probably don't even know what it means.

Oh look, he's swearing, let's all take him seriously!

Done with LP2 forums. Too many annoying people, too many annoying topics, so I won't be hanging around anymore.

To the intelligent and courteous members; it's been fun, and I hope to see you in LP2 sometime! n_n

Hope you all have fun with this truly amazing game!

Don't be a quitter.

It's percentage based so if you play a few matches and actually stay until the end your DNF will go down and you will be able to level up again.

There is no reason you shouldnt be able to quit out of a private match with friends with no DNF penalty... they should also make it so the host can end the game prematurely if needed.

However for ranked and player matches, DNF is a great idea IMO.  The reall trick is how will the game know between a regular player match and a private match with friends?  If maximum private slots are taken?

Yeah, it wasn't that clear until he posted after my post that it was specific to private matches. The first post doesn't clearly define that, only hints at it.

Answer: Have an option in the match creation screen to turn off DNF increase, yet also no gains in career points in the game.

That's almost crystal clear...

It's much easier to just admit you just made a mistake, rather than covering it up and sprinkle a little false ego over it. You end up not learning anything that way either.

If' I'd made a mistake I'd be the first to admit it.

Read it carefully. Not once does he mention a private match until the very end of his post and when he does it hardly specifies anything it's just thrown in as more of an afterthought.

"So don't quit ever not even in a custom, private player match."

Suggests to me that he quit out of more than just private matches to me.

"Almost" crystal clear but not quite clear enough. Do you see him clearly state that it was only private matches? Only? In that very first post? I don't think you do.

But hey, I was being nice and even told him how to solve the issue then get people sart their bitching even though I'd just left it at that seems he made it more clear after.

Next time I won't bother.

See you on the battlefield.

It was in fact, very reasonable to infer that he meant private player matches. If you absolutely refuse to interpret a person's writing then that's your deal., however as most people would have read it would obviously knew what he meant. I mean why would anyone ever go join a random player match with his friends to find something, it's so much more logical to simply make your own room to do the very same thing in a much more controlled environment. Now the very end of his post just simply clarified it that he meant private player matches after a quick interpretation of the rest of the post. I honestly couldn't infer anything else from that.

Anyways I did make my contribution with a proper suggestion that would easily fix the problem with minimal effort. I'm quite happy to offer constructive criticism, and don't take this the wrong way of me insulting you, however I would like to continue and see what other points you would like to show. However if your a literalist, then so be it; poetry must not be fun. Again, however, we are going off topic. If you wish we can take this to the PM's? Sorry if I seem to have put up a hostile front here, it's not intended.

Also if Capcom is willing to put in more work, add another menu for custom matches, where all games created there are all no DNF increases and more diverse settings; but again no rewards of any sort. This would allow for more of a better fun enviroment and wouldn't take away from the player list (because their rooms were usually closed with only private palyers only) yet still public so people can open their rooms in case they want random people in on the fun.
