You didn't (no "e") mention the Standard section. You said there are 9 categories: 5 grenades and 4 guns. But there's 4 guns and the support section. So 10 categories.

Thanks for telling me. Yell I knew I was forgetting something...Oh, and sorry about the typo, I spell "Didn't" like that sometimes, and I almost never use spell check. Foot in mouth

Yeah, when I put the song in, it worked out surprisingly well! All I really had to do was take off the parts that just had text in it.

So, those are pirate customization screenshots.  That is the whole customization menu.  Meaning that you only set one gun for each weapon slot as your initial carry gun in those slots when you find those items.

Will there be options to pick up alternatives in each slot during the campaign, in case they could be used well, or during competitive play just for the fun of shooting your enemies with their guns?

Just checking to see if we have the confirmation on how weapon selection customization will make an impact on the competitive gameplay.

The effectiveness of this has been extremely debated...The answer as of now is no...Whenever a person drops a gun, it only appears for you as the gun you chose for that category in the customization screens.

Snow has been saying that it works really well. Others are still spectacle about this...

So in other words, if you put your standard weapon as Gunsword, and someone drops a regular machine gun, you'll just get ammunition instead of picking up the second gun.

I just had a thought, what category is the energy gun in? If someone would answer this, I would prefer something other than a "you'll see" type of answer.

In lp1, I found the energy gun to be a horribly overpowered weapon, If the charge shot hits you, (and it will unless there's a wall in the way) you have to time your roll so as to avoid the damage, or get hit and lose 3/4 of your health (or even worse, if you roll too early and it catches you in the last frames of the roll, you're insta killed).

The energy gun's power doesn't so much irk me as its homing abilites do though. To make a point, I was having an elimination match with a friend on radar field, when we were just swinging around in circles with our hook. We were actually in a rant about the energy gun, just as I am now. So to make a point about the tracking I tell him to shoot me with a charge shot as I am swinging from the ledge of post 1 (the radar dish).

I kid you not, this little snot colored sob followed me around for 3 whole circles untill it was flung into the ground. Now I knew the tracking was good, but i didn't know it was that good.

This wasn't the only problem with the gun though, if it wasn't for the machine gun's rate of fire, this thing would take the cake when it comes to keeping the enemy stunned. Between the small shots and the charge shots, it is almost impossible to take this sucker on in mid-range combat unless you have 2 buddies at your heels.

Ths is the only gun I've seen, where just 2 them can blunt an entire team's offensive by slowing them down untill they're intercepted by other enemies. This gun is especially lethal when paired with a homing laser or a shotgun. In the case of the homing laser pairing, if both players alternate their fire, unless you've got a VS to hide behind you're as good as dead, and with the shotgun pairing the energy gun guy just has to sit back while you have your fight with the shotgunner, then simply shoots you with a charge blast or many small ones to take you out.

Now the reason I asked about what chategory the Egun was in, and the subsequent rant was for this, Suppose it gets loaded in with the standard weapons, well whose gonna use the snazzy new gunsword or the new and improved machine gun when they can just set it so they spawn with a powerful weapon that does the aiming for them, AND has good anti-vs capabilities?

The same thing with it being in the close range category, the lp1 shotgun was a big gamble at anything other than point-blank range, due to the fact that you couldn't kill a man standing 10 feet in front of you. You might put a hole in his brand new boots, but all that's going to do is give him incentive to kill you. Now I've never owned lpc but from what i understand the revolver was a powerful weapon, but its biggest drawback was it only firing one bullet, that meant every hit had to be spot on. Now who would want to use those weapons when they have... that's right children, the all hitting energy gun.

Now while it may seem like I hate the energy gun, that's only partially true, I recognize that the energy gun is a very powerful weapon that can do well and excel in most combat situations, However oftentimes I've noticed when an expierenced Egun user is at work, the team's focus shifts from "lets kill the enemy team!" to "WE NEED TO GET THAT ******* EGUN GUY!!!"

If anything, I feel the energy gun needs to either get a huge nerf, or be assigned to the support weapons class. Now why the support weapons class, you might ask? At this period in time the weapons in the support class (from what i've seen) is the shield and the injection gun, both 2 very defensive oriented forms of support. The energy gun i feel, should be the balance in support and be the tip of the spear, so to speak of this class, after all, support isn't just limited to defense.

How would this work, you say? suppose things aren't looking good for your team, the enemies are pushing back your lines and are sending all the VS's at their disposal to wipe you out. As they close in, you spot a teammate carrying an injection gun on his back. You can ask him to drop it for you(or pick it up when he gets killed) and now you have an energy gun to slow the advance of he enemy VS's possibly even steal some from them and use them against them. (because after all, nothing is more humiliating than being thrown out of your hardballer, then having it stolen from you)

I've been in on the debate.  I suspected it will be the just get ammo method that you described, but I still wondered if more info was coming immenently.

There are other people that really want it to turn out differently, and it would probably be good for people if they knew which way it is turning out.

I used to feel the need to take cover from EGUN users, but then i discovered that you can just roll right through the blast just as it's about to connect. (same way you do with the homing laser). Once that became common knowledge, the new style is just to spam short bursts. When i'm in a VS, i find it hilarious to exit the vs just as it's connecting, then re enter. I hope they get rid of the silly invincibility stuff in lp2. Seeing someone roll through a gum nade blast is retarded. The worse was the roll shotty clowns.

I already know about rolling through the blasts, it's the fact that there's a very short cooldown till they can fire bursts again, so you'll still be hit by the little bursts and take good damage, even if you roll the main blast.

Ooh, a nice happy thought just dawned on me, the energy gun very obviously is an energy weapon so it will have cooldown and little burst spammers should overheat quickly, and I would imagine a charged shot would be an instant overheat, similar to the halo plasma pistol. I feel better now. Laughing
