Responding to Lost Planet 2 hate/dislike, whatever you wanna call it, is starting to wear me out, so to save myself valuable time and energy, i'm gonna copy/paste what i've written in a previous post:

"I finally saw a substantial amount of LOST PLANET 3 footage and oh GOD; I can finally say, with certainty, that I will not be buying this game. Make note though, I am one of those who typically buys Capcom games even when they slightly deviate from what fans want...

But I can honestly say i'm done with Lost Planet 3 if this is the direction the rest of the series goes in.

What made Lost Planet 2 GREAT, is that it felt like a party game with a story attached; Sounds like a weird formula but it was BRILLIANT IMO.

"The colorful characters, quirky taunts, beautiful, varying, BRIGHT, and expansive locales, and dynamic gameplay controls are just a few things that made LP2's gameplay as sweet as cotton candy for gamers craving a UNIQUE experience."

My question is why go to the "cardboard cut-out" model when your gameplay had obviously evolved beyond that already?

Why make Lost Planet 3 look as boring and stiff as every other shooter on the market?

Why take jump, dynamic grappling, and most of the more quirky and FUN custom character designs out?

Who is this BLAND main character? Why is he here?

Why was the survival horror taken out of Resident Evil and put into this game? (Not a resident evil fan, but this LP series seems to be trending towards that). (Quick time events, which is something that NO ONE LOVES, are still spread throughout both).
Why standardize the quick-time events?

I know no one is going to answer these questions. But these are valid questions coming from a fan who buys your games even when questionable decisions are made, and doesn't really complain too much.

BUT this is RIDICULOUS this time! You create a work of art, and then ruin it!
If this is for sales, then it makes no sense. You'll pick up a few percentage points of shooter fans, but you'll lose about 30-50% of the Lost Planet fanbase and break about even or a little less.

Why the dramatic shift from art to conformity?

I don't understand it, and I can't imagine playing Lost Planet Series ever again in it's current form.

I'm just one fan, but I just wanted to share my honest opinion, and ask the questions, because I know other LP fans want to know; Even if my questions won't be answered."

and @ Young ANTi.....amen brother! I totally agree.

I am so dissapointed in that the franchise has lost it's charm.
Being a huge fan of japanese styled action games and seeing one of my favorite franchise being westernized makes me really sad. I have bought and played all previous three games ( Colonies being a game on it's own, due to Akrid Hunter mode) for countless hours. It was the reason that I bought an 360 just to play Colonies.

I really dislike the direction the franchise is going and agree with you guys on most of the flaws so far. But my opinion is just based on some trailers so I will wait for my final judgement.

Also:

I have not yet seen any stun or throwback animations in the gameplay footage when the player gets hit. Did they left it out?

The roll animation has been made quicker and covers a shorter distance. In the previous games it would made you invincible to any damage for like 0.7sec and vulnerable to a critical hit for the next 0.3sec of the animation. (Rough estimate from my experience)

I don't know if this is confirmed but I saw some Unity users say that there is no jumping?

So from what I have seen and heard so far there is no grapple hook during normal play. It is only available on specific events. So no rolling, immediately grapple and cancel (Grapple canceling) for faster movement. But they did left the dash/run in from LP2.

Also noticed that the old aiming system from the previous games is gone.
The previous games contained an invincible aiming box where your rectangle could be moved within and when it reached the corners of that box the camera would move in that direction.
I really liked that but I know that it had a tough learning curve for some players.

The camera also changed with an 'over the shoulder' aiming perspective. It's not mandatory from what I have seen in the gameplay video with the player shooting at the Spitter Akrid. Don't know yet if this will suit the game since LP is know for its big mechs and monsters taking up the whole screen but we'll see.

The Rig is the replacement for the Vital Suits being a prequel. But we don't know yet if there will be any VS's later on in the game since they haven't revealed any. They changed to first person camera perspective with a 'Punch Out' type gameplay mechanic.

In one of the capcom unity videos they covered the TGS multiplayer demo for a short segment.
Akrid will be in multiplayer attacking both teams in PvP team based combat.

I think i`ve seen some throwback/stun animations (like at 1:50 in last trailer and fighting Spitter in previous trailer) but don`t expect as many of it as we had in previous LP games. Andrew Szymanski mentioned stunlock as one of major problems frustarting new players in LP2 multiplayer.

In my opinion roll is almost identical like in LP1 (duration time). Its more than likely going to work like in previous games (unvulnerability frame).

On joypad description picture, taken on E3, posted by BTHR Zero there is no JUMP button description. This descritption was placed aside console for people playing the demo. So there is (or was) no jump in campaign, MAYBE it will be in multiplayer but i trully doubt it.

Grappling hook is only available in places where there is a flat surface above you can stand on. Nobody knows yet if it will be usefull for traveling like we did before. There is plentiful explanation of anchor working dillemas in one of interviews with Kenji Oguro or Andrew Szymanski.

I`ve been thinking alot about camera view and here`s what i think about it. There are 2 types of camera. First working in tight locations (over the shoulder, identicall with some missions in LP2 like Episode 2/Chapter 2/Area 2 where you couldn`t change it) and second working in wide locations, outside the buildings we all used to in previous LP games. It can help to avoid "problems with cameraman" getting in walls and behind some textures causing irrational situations or changing view to FPP.

I was also very disapointed with new look of LP. But truth is that nobody cares about it. You guys can keep crying about it and suffer endless or try to accept this "new look" and enjoy this game. To be honest if you drop "LP filter" it looks better, and better with every detail they publish.

Or we can ignore it and move on. Honestly I'm getting to the point where I've just accepted it, and just decided I won't buy it. Not mad, because Lost Planet 3 isn't the only video game in the world.

By the way, anyone knows how DmC's sales have been doing? Last I heard they weren't so hot, but a bit of time has passed so.....?

So far, it looks pretty terrible. Not going to write a 3 paragraph rant on why I think it looks like it sucks but they're doing so many things wrong right now.

This series meant a lot to me, as a huge lost planet fan, now they're pretty much spitting in the faces of their fans.

The hell is up with the quick time events? There's way too many of them. Why no jumping? Why limit the anchor? Those were huge parts of the previous games and now they're gone, what's up Capcop?

Yea, Lost planet 2 looks fun and good. LP3, looks weird compared to the previous installments. I will not be putting my money  into this game. Maybe if Lp4 looks and plays similar to lp2. I mostly enjoy the game for the co op. The gameplay and such was a bonus.

its falls in line with capcoms ousourcing their IP's to the west. this game looks like the snowy portions dead space 3. i don't think there has been a japanese created series that has been sucessful with a western developer.

all these games have been deemed either critical or commercial failures except of course lost planet but i can already see the game tanking to be frank. im not trying to troll im just being real about it.

Don't forget that tragedy they called Dark Void, and I still feel like we're missing some other failures....

Final Fight Streetwise (and Revenge I think, although I never played it)

There is something I'm missing.... but I am looking forward to Remember Me.

I haven't RE: Outbreak but a little research says the game was developed by a Capcom production studio.
