So far, it looks pretty terrible. Not going to write a 3 paragraph rant on why I think it looks like it sucks but they're doing so many things wrong right now. This series meant a lot to me, as a huge lost planet fan, now they're pretty much spitting in the faces of their fans. The hell is up with the quick time events? There's way too many of them. Why no jumping? Why limit the anchor? Those were huge parts of the previous games and now they're gone, what's up Capcop?

You preaching to the choir my friend. Don't think I have seen any positive comments on the game in this forum. Unfortunately we are the die hard LP players, search the random game site and you will see about a 50-50 split on people loving or hating the new direction. Regardless its way to late to expect any major changes. All we have left is hoping multiplayer is the same LP.

According to TGS it`s not.

I dont understand when capcom says that the game takes place before lost planets 1 and 2 but they call it lost planets 3. And to me it looks so much like dead space. I loved lost planets 2 and so far I am disapointed.

It's funny, LP2 was universally lambasted in the press yet all players seemed to love it.
Personally, LP3 is looking BETTER with each new part they show off with it.
Part of the regressions can be attributed to the simple fact that it's a prequel and their technology isn't as developed as it is in LP1/2. But no jumping is a bit disappointing.
I like that they are putting more effort into the story and making it more story driven. LP2's story was pretty much a joke.
My only real concerns lie with whether they will be able to create music on par with LP 1&2, the audio quality and whether they remain faithful largely to the Lost Planet gameplay formula instead of GOW'ing it out too much.
And please, comparisons to Dead Space? Yeah SURE it looks sort of like Dead space 3 visually but LP3 was announced and shown BEFORE DS3, so if ANYTHING DS3 looks like Lost Planet 3, not the other way around.
Also: the game is being STILL being directed by series creator Kenji Oguro who directed the first two games.

1.They specifically said that some parts of the game were inspired by Dead Space. 2.Nobody has ever said specifically Dead Space 3. We mean dead space in general. DS3 doesn't look like LP3. LP3 looks like DS3, along with the rest of the DS games. Even in the gameplay video, when he goes inside, it looks exactly like elements from Dead Space. Dark, ransacked futuristic corridors with creepy little aliens (In dead space's case, necromorphs) and tons of quick-time events? Looks exactly like Dead Space, minus the mutant zombies and the fleshy patches all over the place. Honestly, everything they're doing with this game is just wrong.

Dead Space is just the most popular game with such camera view. Maybe somebody noticed that in LP2 in some chapters of Episodes 2 & 3 we play with identical camera view, that can`t be changed nobody knows why... What i also mentioned before when we fight with big Akrids in LP3 camera moves back and you can see legs, not only Jims back. Maybe it can be changed manualy ?

I am almost positive I heard them say that they will provide an option to adjust the camera. I hope they can still follow through on it. Have you guys seen this? www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_emb... Looks pretty sick, but with the first-person VS mechanics, you have to wonder if they will be making an appearance in multiplayer at all...

Meh. It's the same demo footage they've been showing all year. Nothing new. They haven't been working hard to show new material at all for this game.
