I still play LPEC as my primary online game... and still host TE machine gun matches. One of these days I hope to get some full room player matches going with some old school invites like WhiteKong360, DeathStryder, Fenashie, etc. If you ever play LPEC anymore and are up for a MC match I can accommodate that.
While it sounds cool, I'd have to decline, to save me being an a-hole and frustrating people. I'm a bit impatient with online gaming recently. I don't quite have the time I used to (back to study), and there's still a few games I'm playing at the moment that I'd like to spend some more time on before I (hopefully!) return almost exclusively to Lost Planet. I'd like to get at least a few more Far Cry 2 maps completed (Lost Planet: Extreme Condition killed that idea for me on Far Cry Instincts Predator), and I don't think I'll have a hope at finishing Street Fighter IV completely if Lost Planet 2 comes out too much before Christmas!
Oh, and I did play a lot with the Japanese by the way. They seemed to play a lot differently to the Americans and I found it rather refreshing, hardcore and fun. Less Rambos and more teamwork. Even though we couldn't understand each others' languages, we communicated well and soon learned how to play together. ...Gotta love the taunts... Perhaps you should look at my friends list, there still seems to be a few of them playing a version of Lost Planet (more on Extreme Condition lately). Although, lag played a part in that too; one laggy American would kill a room for me, while it didn't seem to matter too much in a Japanese room; I think Australians and Japanese have better connections to each other than Americans do to either. I don't really know too much about all that stuff, that's just from my experience. And before you think of me as a 'lagger', I specifically went out and got the fastest IP (up and down) available and a $250 gaming router when LP:EC came out! It's still faster than our ADSL2+. Anyway, I ramble; a bit sensetive after all the crap my Aussie flag copped on LP!
Can you do so that you can see Enemies in a different color? That all åre red in the radar makes it only worse, hard to know who is who.
This has been debated about for a long time and I actually like it. I didn't at first, but I got used to it as a mechanic and thought about how the game would play if it was changed...I didn't like where my assumptions were going! Hardcore camping. No real reason to keep an eye on your surroundings once you learnt a bit about the map. And to use your words against you, it would make it easier! I love how Lost Planet plays with it the way it is:
"Okay, when I get to the top of this hill, I can see what's going on... Oh crap, that's a VS coming towards me...and fast! What do I do? Turn back? Rush at it with my measley machine gun and grenade-shots?! Oh crap oh crap oh crap..."
JOOOOOOOOOOUUUM!
"Woohoo! Taiga just delivered me a Hardballer!"
Children should be seen and not heard.
