Here are some resources that might be helpful. 1. portforward.com is a very good general portforwarding tutorial/walkthrough site. Check them out for general info on how to open ports safely and/or how to forward your ports. 2. If you have a Linksys router, you can go to their technical support page to get started on port opening and forwarding info. Start by choosing your router model. 3. For Netgear router owners, you can see their tutorial on portforwarding for their routers. Again, you will have to find out and select your router model to get the best info.

question: can I use upnp? because some routers have this option enabled and maybe LP can use it to open ports by itself.

This is such a bad method of getting MP to work. You expect me to really leave all those ports open all the time just so I can play LP PC? Why can't the game operate like all other PC games? No other game requires the end user to manually forward ports, not to mention this many ports...I could understand if you had to open ports to run a server, but this isn't even the case. When can we expect a real fix? Do you [Capcom] honestly think that every PC gamer knows how to forward ports? Alot of these gamers are kids and either don't know how to do it or don't have access to do it. So, I for one am still awaiting a "real" fix.

ok, i'm browsing the forums, i tried portforwarding.com, then tried manually open ports in the windows xp firewall (yeah i liked that part) then, when i was fed up, just turned it off (the firewall). it didn't help, still cant join matches, still cant host one, still dont know what do do. i dont have a router, and the only firewall i have is the windows xp firewall. could anyone explain me what to do, in a simple way? i'm not a haxor, dont really understand the mumbo jumbo. please.

This is exactly why Capcom needs to get off their asses and issue a real patch, that actually fixes things. This port forward bulls hit is nonsense.
