Switch to Forum Live View Crash at launch of DX9 version

When i select launch lost planet I get the windows error

LostPlanetDX9.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

click here for details which gives the following info

AppName: lostplanetdx9.exe     AppVer: 1.0.0.4     ModName: lostplanetdx9.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.4     Offset: 00002c8e


What's going on? My system
Win XP Pro sp2
AMD XP 3000
2GB Ram
Geforce 7800gs

I am using the beta geforce 169.09 linked from the capcom lost planet support site and the latest direct x install package (downloaded today the 28th)
Any ideas

Your CPU doesnt meet the minimum requirements.
You need an Athlon 64 3500 or greater.
