PC Version to Feature Enhanced Graphics and Technology

SAN MATEO, Calif - April 13, 2007 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Lost Planet™: Extreme Condition, the riveting sci-fi action shooter, is being developed for PC. The game is currently available on the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and has already shipped more than one million units worldwide. Lost Planet for PC is rated T for Teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and will be available in June for a suggested retail price of $39.99.

"With the resurgence of the PC gaming market, it was a natural decision for us to deliver the Lost Planet experience to gamers on this platform," said Jack Symon, director, brand marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "By employing the latest and greatest technology available, the development team is able to tailor the game for this highly important audience."

Combining a gripping single player campaign and intense multiplayer modes with support for up to 16 players online, Lost Planet is an epic gaming masterpiece. Enormous world maps unfold as players battle hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions across vast snow fields and blazing volcanic areas either on foot or in armed, robotic Vital Suits.

The PC version will feature enhanced graphics and effects to optimize the realistic presentation and explosive action in the game, including better shadows and more detailed textures, as well as higher monitor resolutions. In addition, the game will include a new lobby interface that has been adapted for the system. Players will have the option to play either using a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad controller. Capcom will also partner with NVIDIA® on their "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" program to showcase the incredible gaming experience that consumers can expect with a PC equipped with the latest NVIDIA GeForce graphics processors.

Wow. You don't see alot of games go from Console to PC. It's usually vice-versa. Interesting, and a likely very wise move guys. Hope it plays out well.

(Are you looking at trying to link 360 and PC? Imagine that would be pretty difficult if both versions weren't made with that in mind already.)

Imagine if you could create/download mods on there. That'd be awesome! Too bad my computer wasn't created with gaming in mind. Mine can play FFXI at least. It also runs Half Life 2 at medium settings pretty well. I'm not a big PC gamer at all and don't make the money it takes to keep upgrading the PC to keep up with these games. That's why I'm a console gamer.

But yeah, it'd be cool to mod your own character at least somehow.

There are some considerable improvements... and seeing it locked at 60fps, in extreme high resolutions is damned impressive.

Speaking of the framerate being "locked at -- FPS" would you happen to know if Lost Planet on the PC will be literally locked at sixty frames per second?

Asking because Resident Evil 4 on the PC had a framerate cap of 30fps, which I found to be rather saddening, as I rather love the silky-smooth gameplay that stems from stupidly high (80-100+) framerates.
