I bought a copy of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition from a used book store and now I understand I cannot install it because the person who sold it to the store registered it under their steam account and steam does not recognize purchases from such stores. I bought the game and the cd key and can show proof. Is there any way around this rediculus policy?

The copy you`ve bought is completelly useless. You should give it back to the store. There is nothing you can do with it. You can`t play even campaign. Where is the point of buying used copy of LP when new costs 5$ ?

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but. Purchase on Steam and you'll never have a problem. I know it's a turd in a punch bowel, Buy hey we love us some Capcom hun?

How are used copies being sold on Amazon and other venues then? I would just like to give away my copy of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition to a friend. I bought this game at a retail store back in 2007 (I still have the receipt - paid around $40 for it). I installed it on an old machine but never played it - the box is still in like new condition. I would like to give away what I bought to a friend who wants it; however my friend cannot load it because my Steam id is linked to the verification code. How can I gift my purchase to a friend? I would just like to remove my Steam id from this purchase and remove the game from my Steam Library. This game has never been installed on my current machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
