Currently the second player gets totally ripped off and forgotten about.  I see on the my page section two little dots beside each faction one for first player, one for second player of the split screen co-op.  However you can't do anything about thier appearance or weapon choices so they always get screwed over and have to stick with the basic weapons.  I'm really tired of seeing an injection gun and getting a shield instead.  come on if you're going to allow split screen co-op at least do it right and don't put 50% of the effort into it.  this game was bought to be played with split screen and now it just sits on the shelf waiting for a day when both characters can be customized.
