Well, I was kind of bummed last year when nobody advertised LAN for LP2 since I never knew what the heck "System Link" meant while playing the game, but me and my bro figured out that System Link=LAN and that there is a way to play the game without "buying" two copies.

My bro recently made an offline GFWL account for Batman: Arkham Asylum which turned off the achievements for it, and when I was playing LP2 DX11 on his computer under the campaign options it said "System Link". Knowing full well that I already had a seperate online account I decided to host a SL game on his computer and slipped over my computer and switch the option from GFWL to System Link, and BOOM we were in the same lobby.

We played the first two chapters no problem using the System Link option, and we had tons of fun.

So for those who have more than one gaming-capable PC, you just need to put "offline" GFWL accounts on the PCs that don't have (a) online one(s).

My interest in Lost Planet 2 has been restored!

Last time I checked, PC Games never really used split-screen. Also the fact this game has trouble keeping up to even 30 FPS, Split-screen would pretty much finish off those 30 FPS.

That, and would you really want two people squeezing together at the same computer(depending if you actually using a HDTV and not some small monitor) with some controllers? Once a controller enters the scene...its not a PC game anymore.

And I dont even notice the map, its like taking about a 10th of the screen on my monitor. Sometimes I dont even know it exists.

Set LAN in Connection Type.

When you enter campaign menu you have following options :

Quick Match

Create Match

Connection Type

In last one you can choose : Games for Windows Live, LAN or offline.
