use your Anchor to attach your self to his rock hide and then attach the GPS
Wow, I didn't realise that was also possible, my friend and I just kept shooting it untill it dropped down low enough to just stand next to it and place the GPS. Another question about those GPS': is it me or is it impossible to stick more than one GPS/person onto the Over G, so if you were to play with four people, you'd need to stick 4 GPS'?

You gotta blast the tips with rockets and they'll start to harden, then you can grapple where it's hard or just run up to it (when the tip is low enough to the ground), and you'll get a prompt to press circle (or B on XBOX I think).

Yes, you would need to stick four with four people.

Pretty much the more people you play with the more GPS Devices you need to stick to him

Thans I'll remember it for the next time I play the game's campaign mode, because my friend had the yellow light of doom on saturday, and now I'm playing Agarest untill he gets a new PS3. (We don't like it when the other one has an 'advantage' by being able to play more and thus unlock more)

To be specific, the creature has long extremities with hard surfaces, but is coated entirely in an unusual gel. The gel will kill you if you touch it. When you do large ammounts of damage to any of the extremities, the gel stops covering it completely. If you are careful, you can grapple to a small clear spot, (make sure to hold the anchor button so that you stay attached) and you can then attach the gps with the melee/post activate/action button. This also nets a good job award. You can also just keep blasting the arms and they will eventually lose all their gel and start to droop down and fall onto the ground surface. Again you could grapple to it and attach gps, or you can just run up and press the action button to attach the gps. Using the anchor will still get a good job at this point. If you miss your chance, the arm will sink into t-eng on the ground and gather it's gel coating again. Then you would have to damage the coating again to clear an area so you can attach your gps.
