You already know Lost Planet 2 is loaded with huge akrid monster bosses, loads of character customization, dozens of guns to unlock, all with thousands of possibilities for making your character unique. Something you may not know about are the Vital Suits, or VS.
Taking down enemies, whether the akrid of the campaign or players in online battles, gets a lot more fun when you start hopping into the VS. Take for instance the GAN-3AM Triseed pictured above. It gives you the ability to transform the suit into what best fits the situation you're in. In fact, it has three transformations, including a submersible style meant for underwater combat.

Those of you who've played Lost Planet before will recognize the returning Vital Suits. They're not the old clunky models you may remember, however. They've received little tweaks to performance, and even new abilities. Like letting friends hitch a ride by hanging on to the side, or letting other people hop into independantly controlled guns in multi-seater VS.
Adding even more fun to the mix, some of the Vital Suits can even fly indefinitely (as long as you have enough T-ENG*). Some of the flying VS even have modules for transporting your teammates from one side of the map to the other, giving your team the advantage of an arial assault.
There's tons more to check out for Lost Planet, and even more sweet Vital Suits to look at on the Official Lost Planet 2 site, and at the Lost Planet Community site. And of course, there's far more Vital Suits in the game than just listed here. We'll talk about more to come, including the many options you have with them online, like turning them off, set to just a few, or even setting the map to be loaded with Vitals Suits everywhere.
*T-ENG footnote: The shortened version of Thermal Energy. A resource used to power Vital Suits, Weapons, and even heal yourself and friends. You can share it whenever you please with teammates. Usually said in short as "Tee Energy." Don't pronounce it as "Tang," people will laugh at you.
