Other games through Steam are OK

Shortly : When I quit the game, I have to restart from the beginning as if I didn't play at all.

Things I did :
I installed the game OK. Changed resolution to "High level". Runs OK.
I played until I climbed into the mech.
I went to the main menu : I could load a "saved game" (option present and active). High level setting was still active and selected.
I could also choose "Continue"

I quit the game. When I restarted it :
High resolution settings was gone,and all the other settings as well.
I must restart a new game. "Continue" was not present any more. No saved game to reload. Everything is gone (or never saved ?)

Very frustrating ! Has anyone encountered the same problem ?
