I noticed all the music is country, wouldnt some techno electronic beats suit the game better? Or ya know anything exept just country? The country is cool i like it, but I dont like that well its the only choice ya know. Please give them some more money to add more music selection to the radio, were in those mechs ALOT, so it would help pass the time and make the game well.... less boring.

The music is related to Jim's personality, its to remind him of home of his wife and child thats why his wife sent him the playlist.

If you want your own music the xbox game reads play list too. If you don't have a play list you can still use custom soundtracks but you lose that sound effect of the music blasting through the rig speakers when you exit, which is one of the small details I like about this game.

It was great idea, but Jim`s music is not available for most of the time, no idea why ?

For story purposes atmospheric music instead of what the rig has. You can definitely play music while not on a story quest.

thanks guys, I get Jim in the game likes that music, does that mean hes a one track minded idiot though? haha. No hes awesome, everyone likes variety so throwing in some more music would work just fine. I play on PC, Id just like some variety, plus I think the devs did a good jb making the game, shouldnt hurt giving them some more money to add some more things. my review for the game to all my friends on pc is this: Are you ready to strap on your spurs heading out into the wild west with a shotgun at your side and a guitar over your arm..... errrr..... that isnt this game at all. yet all the music in the game for some reason is cowboy music, Im not sure why, but maybe the only people who play Lost Planet drove pickup trucks, then after a long day of cattle rustling go home and play Lost Planet. This game is only enjoyable if you like country music, if you do not like country music you can disable the music, but then the world is so empty its like why bother playing at all. The game works, so no issues there but as stated ONLY buy this if you LOVE country music because that is the only music in the game. Rating: 1/10 Value: 4.99

I noticed that the music is usually unavailable as well. I try to access the music player in the rig I get "temporarily disabled", but it seems to be 99% of the time. I know I said I didnt like the country music, but its better than nothing, id like to be able to hear some kind of music, even being able to select the atmospheric music. Is this a bug, or was the music player removed due to all the outrage over the country music?

Music is always available when close to base or in base. But then i don`t need music. I need it when traveling in this ALMOST open world downloading every 30 seconds.....

Wow, I actually didn't know the game read playlists. That's pretty cool! In regards to the topic though, I do think the music was a thematic choice, not a matter of budget. It's not particularly more expensive to make techno or any other style of music. I think they were trying to allude to the pioneer spirit of 19th century American settlers. Or else truckers.
"That's IT! That's the SPIRIT!"
